Resources to defend your neighbors from fascism

Back to News

The Supreme Court recently ruled to allow ICE to use racial profiling when arresting and jailing people—including based on ethnicity or for speaking Spanish.

This is unconstitutional and it endangers Brown people of various backgrounds and immigration statuses who may look Latinx. This dehumanizing ruling also opens the door for further state violence against Black people, who are already disproportionately targeted by police. Due to anti-Black racism, Black immigrants face higher rates of criminalization, detention, and deportation than other immigrants.[1]

In the same week, the fascist-in-chief sent ICE to expand deportations in Chicago, and he is still threatening to send troops to other Black-led cities. ICE is also ramping up worksite raids, recently detaining 475 people at a car manufacturing plant—primarily South Koreans who were here to train U.S. workers.

In times like these, we have to come together. When the government is ripping away necessary services like food assistance and healthcare, we must step up and support one another. We must push back against fascism and push for the multi-racial democracy that people have always advocated for in this country.

One way to plug in is by joining an already existing group in your community. We have power together, and many activists have created organizations, hotlines, and toolkits for us to take action in our communities to support our marginalized neighbors.

Check out this webpage where we’ve compiled resources to help get engaged in your community, such as:

  • Rapid response hotlines for immigrants in need, or to call if you see ICE
  • Know Your Rights information to read and share
  • Guides for educators and school staff to protect students
  • Immigrant rights organizations and other groups working nationally, locally, and statewide (listings for 40 states)
  • Toolkits to push your local officials to cut ties with ICE, or to organize your community to prepare for escalated state violence
  • Community bail funds and mutual aid networks
